José Modesto Apolo has over 47 years’ professional experience and is an outstanding Maritime and Port Law practitioner. He is Former president of the Ibero-American Institute of Maritime Law, past president of the International Chamber of Commerce of Paris (ICC, Ecuador Chapter), president of the Center for Democracy Studies in Ecuador, president of the Ecuadorian Association of Maritime Law (ASEDMAR), professor emeritus of the Chair of Maritime Law and Graduate Studies at Universidad de Especialidades Espíritu Santo, and Commander of the Order of St. Gregory the Great of the Vatican State.
